It is a quinolone, a quinolinemonocarboxylic acid, an aminoquinoline, a N-arylpiperazine, a member of cyclopropanes, a quinolone antibiotic and a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It is a conjugate base of a ciprofloxacin(1+). It is a tautomer of a ciprofloxacin zwitterion.
