Safety Information

Magnesium powder and ribbon: fire hazard - burns intensely (3100 C flame). Water and CO2 extinguishers ineffective - use dry sand. Mg fires very difficult to extinguish. Fine powder: dust explosion risk. Reacts with water when finely divided.
