Equivalence Point
What is Equivalence Point?
The equivalence point in a titration is the point at which the amount of titrant added is stoichiometrically equal to the amount of analyte in the sample. At the equivalence point, the reaction between titrant and analyte is theoretically complete. For a strong acid–strong base titration, the equivalence point occurs at pH 7; for weak acid–strong base titrations, it occurs above pH 7.
